Support with life’s challenges

When you’re diagnosed with disability
Your diagnosis may feel stressful — but with the right support, it can be your first step towards better quality of life. When you’re facing a path that feels difficult to navigate, lean on Serendipity providers for support. We help you understand your diagnosis and uncover what it means for you. You will be guided to face and overcome challenges head-on, so you can enjoy the bright side of life again.

When you seek social and emotional strength

Relationships are a difficult, often confusing, aspect of life. Not everyone relates to you, and no two individuals have walked the same path. But strong relationships are the building blocks to a happy, fulfilling life — and with time and practice, they won’t feel so difficult after all. We encourage strong relationships in your life by working together to improve your communication skills and social abilities. We guide you to set boundaries, lean on those who love you, and share your feelings in friendships. We educate and inform you about healthy relationships, friendships and sexuality, so you feel comfortable and confident in your social world.

When you’re interested in independence and improvement

Habits and routines feel safe and comfortable, but perhaps your health and wellbeing needs improvement. You are brave to consider improving your lifestyle, but it brings up millions of questions. Where to start? What to do? We help you navigate through. We start with Functional Capacity Assessments to provide the right therapeutic supports. We assess your living skills, behaviours and social abilities to provide the right guidance. With our help, you will build skills and capacity to be more independent; develop coping strategies and emotional strengths; and overcome behaviours of concern. Our focus on solutions and outcomes ensures you land in a place where you truly feel better.

When you seek a safe, judgment-free space

Difficult feelings are overwhelming, whether it be anger, fear, guilt, resentment or sadness. It can feel like a dark cloud hanging over each day — but you don’t have to suffer alone. Opening up to a professional counsellor eases the burden from your shoulders. Together, we process your thoughts and feelings in a confidential space, facing parts of yourself that feel difficult, impossible or unexplored. We work together to shift behaviours and create changes you choose, giving you tools to feel better each day. Facing problems, issues and questions about your life feels much more approachable when we do it together.

When you need help navigating the little things

Not sure how to navigate paperwork related to government support? We untangle the mess. Serendipity provides support for FACS, NCAT applications, Centrelink, government housing, and other government agencies. We also support you in filing complaints. Together we ensure the process does not prevent you from accessing tools and resources you need. The pile of paperwork may not feel straightforward at first — but we break through the bureaucracy barrier to get real results.

Therapy where you feel safe

Our clients thrive when therapy is conducted from a safe space. We deliver support face-to-face in your home or at your preferred location, such as your favourite coffee shop. Sessions are also available through phone or video call. We encourage our clients to access support in a way that feels right to them
